The Art of Flowers
This post has been sitting in my drafts for over a year now, so we’re just goin’ with it. Hiya. Welcome back. Let’s hop right in.

Ahh where do I begin… my love affair with florals.
To be completely honest, I never truly appreciated flowers until fairly recently. Sure, I’ve always thought they were pretty, but I also thought spending money on something that dies so quickly was rather, well… frivolous.
But a little while ago, this whole idea changed for me.
You see, earlier this year, I made a commitment to myself to really focus on finding joy in my life as it is now, and not wishing and waiting for the future (more on this to come!). After having a bit of experience with fresh flowers at work, and of course seeing some posts on Instagram, I decided one day to stop by Trader Joe’s on my way back from dropping off my brother at the airport, and the rest was history.
It started with $2 dollar bunches of daffodils, then hydrangeas, eucalyptus, and to be honest, a whole lot of flowers and greens I didn’t know the name of. Before I knew it, my cart was full of flowers, and I was… smitten.
I got home and spent my time trimming them, placing them into vases carefully, and arranging them around the house.
… A week later, I went back for round 2. Daffodils and tulips were my go-to this time, something heartier that would last me longer as the trip to Trader Joe’s isn’t quick! I spent the next week waking up each morning to the fresh flowers by my bedside, and I was happy.
Now, every week includes a flower haul. While Trader Joe’s holds a special place in my heart (and forever will, for many reasons), it’s just too far to make the trip every week. These days, I head over to Posie Peddler, our local florist with a flower market, and while it’s pricey, it’s worth it to me.
I even recently found a local flower farm, Goode Farm, run by the lovely Robin, who has a weekly flower subscription service - absolute music to my ears.

Gosh, I never knew something so little could make such a positive impact on my life. Happy flower hoarding my friends!
